February 29, 2012

SINGAPORE, Feb. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- During a luncheon ceremony held at the 2012 IPC APEX EXPO® in San Diego, California, Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) was honored as the recipient of IPC's 2012 Stan Plzak Corporate Recognition Award. This award honors and recognizes an IPC member corporation in the electronics assembly sector that has made significant contributions to the industry, while demonstrating support of this organization through participation in technical and/or management programs.

IPC is a global trade association dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its 3,100 member companies, which represent all facets of the electronics industry, including design, printed board manufacturing, electronics assembly and test. The award is named for former IPC Board Chairman Stanley Plzak, former president of Pensar Corporation, and a founding member of the IPC Electronics Manufacturing Services Industry Management Council.

"The relationship between IPC and Flextronics goes back many years and is very strong. IPC works hard to be a valuable partner to all of our member companies and we are fortunate to have such strong support from one of the industry's leading companies. The staff and Board are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize Flextronics," said Kim Sterling CAE, IPC vice president of marketing and communications.

"Flextronics continually strives to provide value that increases our customer's competitiveness and strongly supports IPC's mission to make sustainable improvements in the design, printed circuit board manufacturing and electronics assembly industries," said Francois Barbier, president of global operations at Flextronics.
